İngilizce dilinde gelecekle ilgili bir olayı tanımlamak ve anlatmak için be going to ve will kullanılır. Be going to önceden tasarlanmış ve yapmaya karar vermilmiş olayları anlatmakta kullanılır. Will ise önceden planlamadan yapılan işleri anlatır.
